The 1st Annual Glass Conference aboard ship was a huge success! Thank you one and all for the support of the KBW Art Glass Education Foundation!
Our fist art glass conference was held on the Celebrity, Solstice on January 10th, 2010 with 148 attendees. We sailed 7 days in the Western Carribean, roundtrip from Ft. Lauderdale to three ports in the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and St. Martin.
Art glass lectures, hands on workshops in creativity and sketching, art and taxes, glass and silver clay were presented by nationally renowned glass artists and Manufacturers. KBW Foundation provided glass tours onboard and in the local ports of calls, get-togethers, and cocktail parties.
Hobbyists, artists and art glass lovers from 22 states and three countries came together for our 1st annual glass conference to share their love of glass.
Also Celebrity cruise in collaboration with the Corning Museum of Glass has created an unprecedented on-board glass-blowing studio built right into the ship on the upper deck open to the sky and sea air. There were exciting hot glass show presentation that took place throughout the cruise.
Five magnificent hand blown pieces were donated to the foundation to auction off. Every piece was blown on board by the Corning Museum staff.
