Learn a variety of beading techniques, including bead embroidery with glass beads to embellish fused cabochons. Create a beautiful piece of jewelry to keep or give as a gift. These can be made as simple or elaborate as you wish. Creating exquisite, wearable art is easier than you think!
Learn to etch designs on clear glass bevels or mirror using stencils or free hand. Using a simple etching compound that permanently etches glass, we will combine three glass products and techniques to make our final project in class. Paint the etched design with color magic stains or capture and display photos, mementos or dried flowers between your etched glass.
Travel the world over and see extraordinary works of glass art through the ages. We’ll end with the great modern glass artists, and fabulous new techniques in glass art. Travel the world over to see some of the most spectacular glass art ever made.
David will introduce multiple innovative fusing techniques using his popular fusing medium Flexi-Glass. This class is designed to give you new information as well as get a hands-on feel by creating your own fusible piece of work. Don’t miss this opportunity to work with one of the most renowned instructors in the country.
Learn about tools, wire, gauges, and more to produce a beautiful silver filled wire wrapped pendant. Learn about straightening, bundling, and wrapping wire to move on to more advanced projects. All tools are provided as well as a black silk cord so you can wear your creation home. Materials fee includes Merilou’s one-of-a-kind glass cabochon, enough wire to make a pendant and a copy of her 12 page color pendant publication with instructions and photographs.

This presentation and demonstrations style class will introduce innovative design strategies, kiln-shaping tactics and special-effect techniques that will enable you to take your fusing to a higher level. Get the scoop on the “Footed Drop-vase” process, use their “Fritage” technique to produce a watercolor effect, discover the secret to cutting a “Split-ring Glass Donut” then use it to create a blown glass lip wrap effect.

A hands-on workshop creating a small dish or panel. Make and cut stencils to sift glass powders and create a traditional or contemporary design. Learn to make dinnerware, tabletops, panels, and jewelry. Use Mica powders, copper foil, silver or gold leaf, and other inclusions. Tips on molds and firing schedules. Students receive an autographed copy of Kay’s glass-enameling book. Buffet lunch served.
